MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least three people were killed and one more person was injured in a gas cylinder explosion in a restaurant in the southern Greek city of Kalamata, located in the Peloponnese region, local media reported on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 9:15 p.m. local time (19:15 GMT) on Saturday, Greek Reporter news website specified. According to Greek Reporter, the explosion claimed the lives of two employees and the owner of the restaurant, while other reports suggest that not the owner but his wife was killed in the incident.

Three fire service vehicles have promptly extinguished the fire. Police have cordoned off the area. Local authorities have launched the investigation into the incident.
