In rememberance of the 9/11 attacks 18 years ago, 16 performers from the Broadway production of Come From Away performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk series.
The show recounts the days after the tragedy at the World Trade Center in New York City. Come From Away tells the true tales of thousands of passengers in 38 planes that were grounded in remote Gander, Newfoundland in Canada for five days.
“The story we tell is not a 9/11 story, it’s a 9/12 story,” one of the actors explained. “It’s a story about the power of kindness in response to a terrible event, and how we can each live, leading with kindness, everyday.”
